Terbaca viral message tentang Ustaz Nouman Ali Khan tadabbur surah Taha, kisah Nabi Musa menghadap Firaun. Nah ana share.

:______:
Yesterday, our lecturer asked us about the verses from Surah Taha,25-28.

She asked us to translate the verses during the next class. I watched a video from Nouman Ali Khan about that verses, and I think the lessons from those verses are so great that I can't hold myself from sharing it with all of you.

First of all, the background about the story of Musa. Musa was wanted in Egypt for murder. He was given the impossible mission to stand face to face with Firaun, who wanted him for murder. Firaun is the leader of the strongest nation during that time, and Musa was asked to perform an impossible mission by telling Firaun that he is not God, despite the fact that the whole of Egypt is worshipping him.

Some might think that it is best for Musa to ask Allah for some miracle to happen, maybe some army to bring Musa pass through Egypt without being caught or killed by Firaun and his soldiers. But miraculously, the first thing that Musa asked from Allah is for Allah to expand his chest with assurance.

(قَالَ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي)
*[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance]*

What does that mean? When someone has the peace in their heart, they will not be bothered with what their enemy has. Despite the fact that their enemy has a greater military or political power than them, they will be in a calm state, not depressed and not sad, not worried, not nervous, not negative, not pessimistic, and not hopeless with what they are facing. When someone has that kind of peace inside their heart, when you meet with them, you will become calm, positive and happy too.

Musa didn't complain about the mission that Allah ask him to do. He only asks that Allah open his chest for him. He believed that Allah will not abandon him while he is doing the task that Allah gave him. He believed in the unseen thing. He believed that the help from Allah will come regardless how impossible that mission seems.

(وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي)
*And ease for me my task*

The second thing that Musa asked was for Allah to ease his task for him. He admitted that the mission was hard, and he admitted despite how hard and impossible a mission looks like, Allah still have power over it and Allah could guide him and make the task easier for him.

(وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِنْ لِسَانِي)
*And untie the knot from my tongue*

The third thing that Musa did was admitting his own weaknesses. Musa was known as a prophet who can't speak clearly. He admitted that he is not perfect. The message of Allah is perfect, but Musa is not perfect. Allah words are perfect, but the way Musa deliver it is not perfect.

He acknowledged that his dakwah is not perfect, and he asked Allah to cover his mistake. He asked for Allah to untie the knot from his tongue. He needs to face an influential leader of his time but he has a major weakness, he can't speak clearly while his enemy is a great leader who can speak very well. He admitted his own weaknesses and ask Allah to help him with it.

(يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي)
*That they may understand my speech.*

The last thing that he asks is the people of Egypt would understand his words. So they would understand what he says. It should be noted that Musa is carrying God's messages, God's words, but why whole he ask so that the people would understand his words, not Allah's words? Because despite the fact that Allah's words are perfect, the way Musa deliver it is not perfect. He is the one who needs to explain it. He needs to explain it in the way that people could understand. He needs to know the level of knowledge and understanding that his audience has. He needs to deliver the message in an easy way to his audience and not vice versa.

How does this dua relate to us, as students, as future lawyers?

Firstly, whatever task, assignments or cases that were given to us, do not complain about it. Ask Allah to open up your heart for you. Be positive, be calm, and be the source of positivity and calmness to others. Do not be bothered with what your friends might think about your presentations, what your friend might think about what you say, what the other party would use against your arguments. Ask for calmness and peace from Allah, and be calm.

Second, if you think what you are facing is hard, ask Allah to ease it for you. No matter how hard that thing seems, Allah surely is more powerful than that. Maybe you think your lecturer is the type that will give low marks to students, maybe you think that you can't reach the standard that your lecturer or the judges are expecting, but regardless how hard what you are facing, ask Allah to ease your task.

Third, admit your weaknesses to Allah. Don't you ever think that you have all the knowledge and strength to complete the task that was given to you. Regardless how good you are, always be humble. Especially, be humble to God.

Fourth, despite your weaknesses, ask Allah to help you with it. Maybe you were the kind who are afraid to speak in front of others, maybe you are so nervous, maybe you stammer a lot while presenting, maybe you have a bad command of English, maybe you have so many weaknesses that it is impossible to be listed one by one, but despite that, ask Allah to cover up your weaknesses for you.

Lastly, ask Allah to grant understanding to your audience. Maybe what you are saying is the right thing, but the judges or lecturers understand it in a different way. The way you say what you want to say is important, but people still could understand it the wrong way. Because you can only say what you want, but only Allah could grant understanding to people. Therefore, ask Allah to help your audiences understand what you are saying.

Maybe after this, every time we recite the dua robbish rohli sodri, we have a deeper understanding about the meaning in shaa Allah.
